Graffiti Or Street Art
I'm conflicted with this one. It's certainly is a painting, it's framed, there is structure to it, it's even signed....and on a wall of a building with a sidewalk, yet I'm tempted to call it graffiti....weird of me eh?

Graffiti Has Returned
Thank you to everyone who left a comment on my sons photo [see the previous post]. He was overjoyed with the amount of comments left for him. If it helped contribute his liking to photography, then yes, my ploy for comments was well worth it.I'm back under Highway 61 for this graffiti photo. When I was younger, I always used to draw names very similar to this style of font lettering. Granted, I never once felt the need to spray paint it on a wall, I was happy enough with paper.

Graffiti Under The Bridge
This vandalized wall, I mean, this artistic graffiti can be found in St Paul, under highway 61 at a roadside park which leads into Battle Creek Park. Whomever tagged this wall, had an issue with their black spray paint can. The paint was too thin, or they over sprayed. There are some serious drips with the blank spray paint. See all of the runs now when you look close? This is a terrible job by the vandal who wrote their name on the all. Blah! The white shading effect around the lettering, another terrible job I must say. Very uneven, double sprayed, plus a few places where you went WAY off track of the letter. Perhaps someone finished this for you at a later date? If you're going to vandalize a wall, and then later on have my tax payer dollars clean it up, at least make it look outstanding.

Look What I Found!
I was thinking of making this a guessing game for the locals. But I've decided against it, though I am curious if anyone has visited this location. I am standing under Highway 61, [click here for an aerial shot] in St Paul. I stopped at the roadside park, which I believe leads into Battle Creek Park, and was surprised to find this tunnel filled with spray paintings of all sorts.

Theme Day: Graffiti or Street Mural
Yeah! I finally have internet connection!
I couldn't resist this train graffiti I found in Hastings, Minnesota while on a walk back in the spring of 2007. This one is quite funny to me. The enormous eyes, the detail that went into just the ears alone. great shadowing technique with spray paint. It's very well done to whomever the artist was.
Please be sure to visit the other participating Theme Day bloggers listed below the photo.

Your Signature Please
Found this fabulous signature on the side of an electrical box while at the Farmers Market in downtown St Paul. I'm not sure who 'glow' is, but their handiwork is now displayed on the Twin Cities Daily Photo.

What Does This Mean?
To me it's just graffiti, but to the person who wrote "Moose Youth RV St Paul Oh Sicks" it was something special to write it on this fence of rusted barbed wire. From what I've googled, it's an organization for kids to make the right choices in life. Interesting concept....peer pressure to do the right thing instead of the bad. I like it.

Pre-Historic Cave Carvings
Well....maybe not historic, but someone recently cared enough to leave their mark on the sandstone cliffs that make up the banks that USED to be part of the Mississippi river millions of years ago. These modern hieroglyphics can be found at the base of the Green Stairs that I've recently posted about a few days ago. They are there, just as you step off the last step, look and you will find them.Top 3 Daily Photo Sites of the Day:

Rita Hayworth Gave Good Face
Rita Hayworth - Please Don't Kiss MeChris over at the Minneapolis Daily Photo has posted not one photo with a face, but two photos with a face. I felt compelled to keep up with the Jones, so to speak. I had taken this photo about three weeks ago in Hastings while on a walk with my family. We happened to pass by this somewhat abandon train cars with lots of graffiti. After being challenged to a face off, I figured that this graffiti face was my answer to the surprise attack.

You're In The Jungle Baby
As I was walking down the green stairs that I've recently posted about, I passed this bit of graffiti. I smiled and felt at home. I grew up in this Westside neighborhood, whomever wrote this just wanted to show their westside pride. There even used to be a West Side Pride Day parade. Salute!Labels: graffiti, green stairs, westside

As Ugly As This Looks
You'll be hard pressed to find any vulgarity spray painted on this overpass in Hastings. There are a couple if you look long enough. We took a hike along the Vermillion Falls over the weekend. One of the trails led us under a bridge with all of this graffiti and about seven rusty bikes. It's obviously where you dump a stolen bike when your finished riding it.NOTE: I'm still having issues uploading to my hosting server that I've been troubleshooting all weekend long. It is currently taking me hours to upload one simple photo plus a daily text update. Hopefully I'll get this straightened out soon.
