Theme Day: Lines

The theme day for October 2008 is 'lines'. I found today's theme day in the City Daily Photo Community to be one of my favorites of all of the theme's I've participated in. When one goes out and specifically looks for 'lines' to photograph, they can be found everywhere! I was looking through my archives and found many examples that I could have easily posted today. I opted for something a bit on the unusual side as I often like to do. If you've stopped by to read the description today, hopefully you're wondering what this is making those lines. Perhaps you have it figured out, perhaps you have an idea what it could be but aren't quite sure, perhaps it's not so clear. Perhaps I'll show you what it is tomorrow.

Stop by the other cities participating in the October Theme Day via the links below this photo. Do remember that there are timezone differences between the other cities. Or you can head over to the portal page to see a thumbnail view of blogs that have posted their 'lines' photo.

I Can't Believe Someone Threw Away A Perfectly Good Car

Advertisement by the public transportation shows a car thrown into a roll off dupmster. Has something ever caught your eye as you were driving and you had to turn around and go back and see it again? This contribution photo from swc was one of those instances. When I first saw the photos, I was a bit puzzled by it. Looking at what is printed on the side of the roll off box, it is nothing more than advertisement by the publicly funded bus system encouraging you to throw away your car and start using public transportation. Yep, that's my tax dollars paying for that odd, but very eye catching advertisement. I'm curious how much this cost for this setup and is this the only location that is advertising in this manner? Hummm....

What The Hell Is That?

Yikes, you'll hurt your neck if you look up for a long time at this photo. This is me looking up from the very bottom of the green stairs from my April 22nd photo with all of the naked tree branches reaching out to touch the green stair frame. One thing I noticed about the stairs, the closer one gets to the bottom, the rustier the stairs become as the rain drops really start to work on the metal and old paint trying to cover it. I can tell you this, when the bottom of the stairs finally starts to give way from being so rusty, the tree branches should be long enough to grab and hold the stairs upright.
