We came back to the Duluth Lift Bridge the next night. A lot less wind, about 35 F degrees, and calmer waters.
This is beautiful. I lived in Duluth from 1940-41 to 1945-46. We used to play on the waters edge near the bridge. I remember finding gorgeous pieces of glass worn smooth by the washing of the water and had quite a collection. I have no idea what happened to that collection. We moved to Los Angeles in the mid-winter and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It was warm! :)
Thanks for your story. This was my first trip to Duluth when the leaves were changing, mother nature can put on quite the show, plus the weather was amazing for October.
