Action shot Saturday! One of the many 'skim boarders' I found on Clearwater Beach in Florida over my Christmas vacation.
These two boys were contemplating their next run into the ocean. They have 'skim boards' in their hands. From what I could tell, you run along the waters edge, throw the board in front of you in the water, then jump on the skim board and ride it as long as you can. It looked much easier to just photograph, so I didn't ask for a turn. :)
My last evening in Florida, I was given this bright orange sunset with a nice calm ocean. It was a great finish to a wonder stay.
You never know what your going to get at sunset. Today setting of the sun brought us just a little slice of sunlight.
I would like to thank the couple walking hand in hand down the waterline at sunset on Clearwater Beach. They added that extra element to the scenery.
More from my Florida trip. This time, I'm at Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs. It was our first night in Florida. We had just arrived, the sun had already set, yet we wanted to go see the ocean, even if there was only a few more minutes of light that evening. What also caught my eye was the "crepuscular rays" in the sky, also called "distant cloud shadows". I had too look up the correct term, but I've seen them many times before. If you look at the center of the photo, in the sky, there is a diagonal line of blue and yellow. That line is created by a clouds or gaps in clouds, hundreds and hundreds of miles away and can only be seen after the sun has set for quite some time.
Almost every time I saw post sticking out of the water in the Clearwater Beach area, there was a bird sitting on the post. I'm sure it was a great spot to rest, but 90% of the time, one bird occupied the post.
The Blog Hijack continues....one of the many paths that leads to Clearwater Beach in Florida. I didn't get to see the sunset this evening as there were many clouds on the horizon, however, the colorful sky was still a sight to see.
Well, I just recently returned from the warm weather state of Florida last week. My family and I spent 9 days in the Tarpon Spring area, about 30 minutes from Tampa. If you don't mind, I'm going to post some of my favorite photos from the trip, more particularly, many of the sunsets. We spent the majority of our days at Clearwater Beach, with colorful skys as the sun set. So bear with me while I hijack my own blog.
