Gopher Women's Basketball

We were at the Gopher Women's Basketball game this past Sunday. They took on the Fighting Illini of Illinois. The Gophers were defeated 70-57. I would guess it's been about ten years since I was last in Williams Arena and certainly did miss watching games in person. Will definitely need to make a return visit this season.

Gopher To Badger Half Marathon

This past weekend was the 2012 version of the Gopher To Badger Half Marathon race. I am somewhere past the start line, way past the start line. This was my first time running a half marathon. I finished with a time of 2:03:27 and a 9:26 pace. I felt great at the finish line and was very happy with my time.

The name of the race, for those not familiar with the Gopher and Badger. Those are college mascot names. The race starts in Minnesota and finishes in Wisconsin. The mascot names are for the two Big Ten schools accordingly.

Waxed Neon Lanes

There wasn't much action here at the local bowling alley. I did like the neon artwork above the lanes.

Blog Hijack: Splish Splash

Action shot Saturday! One of the many 'skim boarders' I found on Clearwater Beach in Florida over my Christmas vacation.

Rest Spot

He was taking a break of fighting the current behind the large boulder. What is he sitting in, I'm not sure what this is exactly. It's way too small to be a kayak, unless this is a mini version of it. He was taking a break of fighting the current behind the large boulder. That is the sun's reflection on the rocks on the shoreline. It's very strange how yellow the water looks in the photo, but I don't recall it being that color when I took the photo.

Last Days Of Summer

I hope you were able to get out in Wednesday's weather treat. That very well could be the last nice day of the year. I hope you were able to get out in Wednesday's weather treat. That very well could be the last nice day of the year.

Flinging Fun

I've seen these at a few parks in the Twin Cities, they are Frisbee golf courses. I spoke with someone at the park who was playing, there stores that sell competitive items and leagues for anyone to compete in. Reminiscing

The weather has turned into the cold winter months, so we wont be seeing these kind of scenes around here until late spring.

Pregame Tailgate

Before each Vikings games, as I'm sure happens in every city hosting a football game, there are several designated tailgate lots. In these lots they allow everyone to grill, drink beverages and party before the game starts. The designated lots also provide port-a-potties and a barrel to dump your hot coals into. There is an extra cost to park in these lots, $55 dollars to be exact. Quite steep if you ask me, but a couple blocks away, in lots that do not allow tailgating, you'll pay $20-25 for parking.

Return Of Randy Moss

My wife had surprised me over the summer by purchasing tickets for the Minnesota Vikings versus Dallas Cowboys football game. Little did we know we would be there for Randy Moss's return in a Vikings uniform. Little did we know we would be there for Randy Moss's return in a Vikings uniform. There was a lot of excitement for Moss today. Lots of number 84 jerseys and the crowd even chanted his name during the TV timeout at the start of the game. The Vikings were the victor by a score of 24-21.

Favre On The Loose

I made it to the Minnesota Vikings versus the Detroit Lions game on Sunday with my wifey. The Vikings was by a score of 24-10. Something I didn't expect to happen was seeing Brent Favre up here in the stands with me. I'm not sure how he found the time to watch the game from the fans perspective, but as you can see, I have him right there in the photo. Minnesota Gopher Stadium

The new Gopher Stadium finally built back on campus seats 50,805 and is horseshoe in design. There is room for future expansion to bring the total seating capacity to 80,000 seats. The new Gopher Stadium finally built back on campus seats 50,805 and is horseshoe in design. There is room for future expansion to bring the total seating capacity to 80,000 seats. I'm unsure where the expansion would take place to raise the number of seats. Easily they could remove the horseshoe shape and complete the oval, but is that the expansion they are talking about or is there a much simpler option that I'm not seeing?
