Look At That Mushroom, It's Hugegantic

We brought my son to the Rainforest Cafe in the Mall of America for his 8th birthday. To my surprise, this was the first Rainforest Cafe to open it's doors 15 years ago. It's a fun place to eat with the surroundings that are part of the restaurant. There is a thunderstorm that rolls through every half hour, it rains in certain areas as well, lots of salt water fish tanks. There is so much to look at, you couldn't possibly see everything the first time you eat there. The bar area is built under a couple of very large mushrooms, which I didn't realize when I first sat down in my seat.

You may not believe this, but my DH and I decided that we would not go to the Mall of America, and so far, we haven't.

Looks interesting, tho. Guess I'll stay on Grand Avenue and support the small business person, that's our bias.

I recall reading that on your photo site comments a while back. It was surprising, but I know many that have never been there as well. So you are not alone.

It's fairly close to us actually and there isn't that much for shopping in Cottage Grove, although Woodbury has quite a bit of places to shop and eat lately.

I will tell you, we've probably had dinner at more resturants in the Mall of America than we have been there for just shopping trips. There are quite a few outstanding restaurants in there that I would recommend highly. My personal favorite is called the Twin City Grill: http://www.leye.com/restaurants/rest_home.jsp?id=21

Oooooh, it's a Disneyland style restaurant then? How about taking your kids to a real outdoor picnic with real rain spoiling it all in the middle? Just joking !!!
