Water Works

Believe it or not, this is how we fill our water towers in Cottage Grove.

Gorillaz

Maybe it's just me, but I cannot picture myself wearing a gorilla mask like this in the winter months. I'm sure it keeps you warm when it's -10F degrees, but no thank you. Could you picture yourself wearing something like this?

They're Sending A Message

The sign reads 'go green recycle government' which is the current trend of the upcoming elections in November. It appears to be the current trend of the upcoming elections in November....

Which Is More Shocking?

The tattooed legs caught my eye initially, but take another look....which is more shocking, the tattooed legs or the legs wearing shorts and over the calf socks? I mean really? Bitte Im Sitzen Pinkeln!

I know, very unusual post today....I was a bit confused by the signs when I entered the restroom, but they looked picture worthy with the bold colors. Bitte im Sitzen pinkeln! Eh?

Free Speech

I took a different way home from work this week due to road construction in my city. While on my way, I passed this sign posted on a fence to a home. As I passed, I read the first part of it, but I wasn't quite sure what the entire sign said. I had a good idea, but what did the last part say for sure? So, the curious side of me had to turn around and get a better look. Proof that freedom of Speech is still alive in this country. I'll keep the location a secret....

Theme Day: Funny Signs

Funny Signs is the June theme day in the City Daily Photo community. Last month I photographed a tax cut rally on the steps of the Minnesota State Capital building. There was plenty of signs to choose from depending on your point of view. The photo I selected was very clever. Now if your not familiar with United State politics, it may not be as humorous and the joke behind it may not make any sense.

During the 2008 presidential campaigns, Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live was doing a skit impersonation of Sarah Palin. During the skit, one of her lines was 'I can see Russia from my house'. That one line from the skit received a lot of air play during the campaigns. Any way, fast forward to the tax cut rally. With the upcoming elections this November, the Republican candidates appear like they are gaining momentum as we come closer to election day. I found this sign, out of all of the signs there at the rally, as my favorite....that was a long story wasn't it?

Hopefully someone finds humor in my 'funny sign' photo. Be sure to visit the other participants showing their funny sign photos, hopefully with a short story to go along with it. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

Pants On The Ground

I'm unsure of the photographer, but it made me laugh today! Those of you familiar with American Idol this season should be familiar with the 'pants on the ground' saying, if not, word search 'You Tube'. I found it very amusing and a bit of a break from my usual daily picture.

Could This Be An Alligator Sign?

No, this is not sign for strangely shaped alligators, it's actually a sign for shopping carts at a department store. I thought it looked better if I flipped the photo upside down.

From a 4th of July parade in Afton, MN...the slogan on their shirts is rather funny.

Vacuum Sealed Freshness

A practical joke was played on a co-worker, they jokers shrink wrapped a vehicle with plastic wrap. Today is "play a joke on your co-worker" day. I bet you didn't know that day existed did you? Okay, it doesn't exisit, but that didn't stop a couple of internet-addicted, potential wedgie victims, from shrink wrapping an entire Dodge Neon. Yes, it was decided on Monday, one of their co-workers from the department they work in, would get their vehicle wrapped entirely in plastic. I didn't see the unwrapping, but my guess is, it took less time to unwrap, than it did to wrap the entire car. Though I would have liked to have seen more detail wrapping, like on the tires, mirror, antenna, wipers, etc. Something that would have made it more of a challenge during the unwrapping phase. It was all in good fun.

Spoiled Kid Sale

a garage sale sign that reads, spoiled kid sale. One has to appreciate the honesty this parent has with this custom garage sale sign I drove past the other day. After I passed the sign and realized what it said, I had to turn around, go back and capture a photo. It was too good to pass up.
