Boys JV 5K race from the Milaca Mega Meet this past Saturday. Somewhere in the sea of runners is my son.
I was downtown Minneapolis when I took this photo. She didn't make eye contact with anyone and during my very short pass by, I saw no one stop to offer help.
I got a kick out of this boater taking a moment to answer an incoming phone call while out on Lake Calhoun.
Looks like this one is a bit dated, as I see many wearing jackets, while our weather here is climbing near 80F degrees.
Action shot Saturday! One of the many 'skim boarders' I found on Clearwater Beach in Florida over my Christmas vacation.
These two boys were contemplating their next run into the ocean. They have 'skim boards' in their hands. From what I could tell, you run along the waters edge, throw the board in front of you in the water, then jump on the skim board and ride it as long as you can. It looked much easier to just photograph, so I didn't ask for a turn. :)
He was taking a break of fighting the current behind the large boulder. What is he sitting in, I'm not sure what this is exactly. It's way too small to be a kayak, unless this is a mini version of it. Also, no....the water in Minnesota is not yellow. That is the sun's reflection on the rocks on the shoreline. It's very strange how yellow the water looks in the photo, but I don't recall it being that color when I took the photo.
I've never seen anyone do this before, but these paddle boats can be rented on Lake Calhoun. I honestly believe it would be easier in a kayak or a canoe, but it must be enjoyable to want to do this.
I hope you were able to get out in Wednesday's weather treat. That very well could be the last nice day of the year.
He was really working hard at getting the water to flow. Mom did help him a bit, but eventually the hard work paid off.
There was a good mix of people from the Warrior Dash who were waiting to run and those who were covered in mud. It was very comical to see people having conversations in groups while caked in mud like it was no big deal.
It was a bit rainy for Cottage Grove's Strawberry Fest 5K race, those who participated definitely got wet during the race. I was among those who ran in the rain. It was my first ever 5K race, actually my first time running with a group of people. It was a bit of a challenge at first, but after the first mile was past me, everyone was spread out enough to run.
Yep, I was spotted by this scenic onlooker while taking his photo. It was a classic moment in camera versus binoculars.
