Gopher Women's Basketball

We were at the Gopher Women's Basketball game this past Sunday. They took on the Fighting Illini of Illinois. The Gophers were defeated 70-57. I would guess it's been about ten years since I was last in Williams Arena and certainly did miss watching games in person. Will definitely need to make a return visit this season.

Painting With Style Revisit

I thought I was taking a photo of the Valspar Building. As I'm typing, I realized they refreshed the paint job on the building. I had captured the same building back in 2006, which you can see here with the original paint. Today, it is now the Sherwin Williams Building. It makes sense they refreshed the paint job, and I wouldn't have looked closer if they hadn't. Nice to see they kept the familiar feel to the building as well.

Kenny Chesney At US Bank Stadium

It was a great show at US Bank Stadium a couple weekends ago at the Kenny Chesney concert at US Bank Stadium. We purchased tickets back in March or April to the Sandbar section, which were general admission section, and right next to the stage. The show was supposed to take place in 2020, but was postponed, like many shows until 2022. I'm just glad we didn't have to wait three years to see him perform.

Old Dominion At US Bank Stadium

Last year in 2021, the song 'I Was On A Boat That Day' by Old Dominion was me and my wife's theme song for the summer. To see them sing it live was quite a treat. We certainly would see them again if they return as the headliner. They opened for Kenny Chesney with a couple other bands.

East Side of US Bank Stadium

It's an odd duck of a stadium, artistically pleasing, and yet really difficult to photograph. I've only captured a couple of photos of the new US Bank Stadium, and haven't felt I captured it well. Maybe it's the size of the structure, or I'm always on my way in to the stadium and don't take my time.

Fulton Tap Room

I'm a little late on posting this photo as I snapped this one last year during Fulton Beer's 10th Anniversary. It is one of my favorite places to visit before heading into the Minnesota Twins game. They offer their lineup of beer and food. My very first IPA ever was from Fulton, it was their Sweet Child Of Vine. Might be the best name for a beer, ever!

Bullwinkle's Saloon & Fun Bar

I've never been inside of Bullwinkle's Saloon, but I've been told it's a very long bar, like it was a bowling ally in it's past life. No idea?

Inside US Bank Stadium

Inside US Bank Stadium

A friend of mine sent this photo to me, it was his last day working at the stadium. At first I thought it was an empty stadium, however, as I was just about to post this, I noticed there is one person in the photo. Do you see them now?

State Theater

This is one of my favorite marquees in the Twin Cities. The State Theatre opened in 1921 and was one of the more elaborate theatres for it's time. This is one of my favorite marquees in the Twin Cities. The State Theatre opened in 1921 and was one of the more elaborate theatres for it's time. It was restored and reopened in 1991. I've been inside only a few times and I must say, the insides are quite stunning. It is a thing of beauty and thank goodness they preserved this building as Minneapolis has a history of demolishing historic builds.

Pantages Theater

Built in 1916 and operated for quite some time, it was closed in 1984. The theater was renovated by the city of Minneapolis in 2002 and reopened. In 2005, the city transferred ownership of its theaters to the Hennepin Theatre Trust.

Thank You

I'm unsure how much was donated, but there was a handshake with a thank you after the donation to the bucket.

It's nothing complex, but it's very colorful and fun.

Music Stars

A close up of some of the musical acts that have played at First Avenue. Of all of the stars listed in the photo, I've seen three of the bands here at First Ave. It is one of my personal favorite places to see a concert in the Twin Cities.

Please Help

I was downtown Minneapolis when I took this photo. She didn't make eye contact with anyone and during my very short pass by, I saw no one stop to offer help.
