Flinging Fun

I've seen these at a few parks in the Twin Cities, they are Frisbee golf courses. I spoke with someone at the park who was playing, there stores that sell competitive items and leagues for anyone to compete in. Top Of The Falls

While not as scenic, this is the top side of the Minnehaha Falls, but if you look closely, down at the bottom, you can see the onlookers viewing the falls from the much more famous side.

Statue Across The River

I couldn't get too close to this statue as there was a river between myself and the statue. The river is just a short walk from the Minnehaha Falls. If I zoom in on the inscription by the feet of the statue it reads "Over wide and gushing rivers in his arms he bore the maiden" by Longfellow.

Missing Summer

I'm sticking with the warmer weather theme because, as of this writing, outside air temps are at -11F (-24C). It's suppose to drop to somewhere between -15F to -18F in the Twin Cities. Head four hours north into Minnesota border and you'll find temps in the -30F to -40F range.

Minnehaha Falls

The ever popular tourist attraction in Minneapolis, the Minnehaha Falls. Depending on the amount of rain, the Falls can dry up. I've seen it once, but this summer we've had plenty of rain to keep the falls busy. The ever popular tourist attraction in Minneapolis, the Minnehaha Falls. Danger, Keep Out!

Really now? See that 'danger keep out' sign with the fence, the wall as high as your knee, plus the heavily traveled walking path....could you keep out? Or would you, like I did, venture fourth down the trail?

Summer Fun

Friends splash each other at the base of Minnehaha Falls at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis. More than 800,000 people visit the park each year. The falls, featuring a 53-foot drop, are the star of the show.

The Right Idea

The tropical weather hit the Twin Cities on Wednesday. I found several groups of families and friends keeping cool in this clearing, downstream from the Minnehaha Falls. Semi-Frozen Falls

Photo submission by NJC of the Minnehaha Falls taken in March of 2010. During the winter months, the falls can completely freeze over, but this is well into the normal thaw and what remained of the ice in March. Oddly enough, I was told the gentleman without the shirt was swimming in the frigid waters. Only in Minnesota....
