Walking over the Stillwater Lift Bridge in the winter months can be very chilly. If the winter winds are blowing across the St Croix River, or any direction to the bridge, my oh my it's a difficult walk across. 

Tunnel Of Lights

This photo was taken a year ago in Stillwater, with the iconic Stillwater Lift Bridge in the background. The light display was a beautiful addition to the street leading up to the bridge. Currently, the street is under construction and will soon undergo changes. Hopefully, the plan is to reimagine the area and make it more useful for the community.

Stillwater Lift Bridge's New Assignment

If you've lived in anywhere near the Stillwater Lift Bridge, you must have driven over this bridge at least once. Since the new bridge, down the river opened, this was my first time walking across the iconic bridge.

One of the dinner cruise boats that leaves from the Stillwater area heading under the historic Stillwater Lift Bridge. The lift bridge crosses the St Croix River into Wisconsin.

Gopher To Badger Half Marathon

This past weekend was the 2012 version of the Gopher To Badger Half Marathon race. I am somewhere past the start line, way past the start line. This was my first time running a half marathon. I finished with a time of 2:03:27 and a 9:26 pace. I felt great at the finish line and was very happy with my time.

The name of the race, for those not familiar with the Gopher and Badger. Those are college mascot names. The race starts in Minnesota and finishes in Wisconsin. The mascot names are for the two Big Ten schools accordingly.

While sitting at a stoplight in Stillwater, this popcorn stand caught my eye.

Stillwater Lift Bridge

The lift bridge in Stillwater, crossing the St Croix River, is in major need of replacement. It's quite the icon of a bridge, but it's days are coming to an end.
