Tunnel Of Lights

This photo was taken a year ago in Stillwater, with the iconic Stillwater Lift Bridge in the background. The light display was a beautiful addition to the street leading up to the bridge. Currently, the street is under construction and will soon undergo changes. Hopefully, the plan is to reimagine the area and make it more useful for the community.

Waiting For Santa

Every year, my cat Ruby would lay by the Christmas tree lights and under the tree as well. He is missed this time of the year.

They have to measure about six feet wide and hanging from the ceiling at the Mall Of America.

The Griswold's Moved To Hastings

Little did you know that the Griswold's moved from Hollywood, to Hastings. Yes the Griswold family from the hit movie "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" have setup their Christmas light in full bloom. I've never seen so many lights on one single house before. I drove around the block, and yes, there are even lights on the backside of the home, just like the rest of the house, but I couldn't get a clear shot of it. The only place that doesn't have lights is the roof!

For the locals, you'll find this home on 3rd Street, about three four blocks from Highway 61.

I must give credit to JF and her friend Amy for the photo opportunity tip or I would have never found this place.

Frosted Christmas Trees

I only made one visit to the Mall Of America during the Christmas Holiday Season. One thing I've noticed is they've changed all of their decorations throughout the mall. Well, sort of changed them. What I've always seen year after year now has a 'frosted' look to it. I'll post an older photo of the Christmas tree below, one from 2007, the other from 2006, each with a slightly different look. Don't get me wrong, I like the change, I was just surprised to see the same decorations in disguise gave it such a new look.

How Did They Do That?

When I first saw this house, I had to do a double take. Take a look at the size of the tree with the lights in it. That is a well established tree, I would estimate 60 feet tall? How they get the lights in this tree and keep power to it, is another question I would like answered....

Not Quite Rockafeller Plaza

I always wonder how one gets Christmas tree lights so high up in the air like you see in this tree....after all, it is twice as tall as the house!

The Blue Tree

There is something I like about blue LED Christmas lighting, perhaps the uniqueness, perhaps the calming colors, perhaps it just not as busy as the multicolored lights or it's just different than the over used white bulbs. I do like this capture that was sent to me from swc, enjoy!

What Do You See?

When I look at this Christmas wreath that is suspended in mid-air at a horizontal position, all I see is a great big decorated Eagles Nest. Call me strange, but that's what I see....how about you?

Merry Christmas to all who stop by today. I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable day of celebration.

Christmas Lights

Now this house doesn't have tons of Christmas lights, but I do enjoy this one. Mainly because of the time they take each year to string the lights on their roof so it resembles a Spirograph pattern. Which happens to be one of my favorite toys to play with growing up. They've added a few things over the years I've been driving by it, but not too much. This home can be found in South St Paul around the 5th - 7th Street exits.

Theme Day: Circles Or Spheres

The first day of each month, many of the city photo bloggers participate in a theme photo. December's theme is circles or spheres. I found wanted to incorporate Christmas into my theme day photo and found the largest Christmas ornaments I could find in the Twin Cities. These can be found hanging at the Mall Of America in Bloomington.

To see more creative theme day photos around the world, stop by the portal page for a convenient thumbnail view of all participants. As the time zone change around the globe, more photos will be added.

Oh The Colors

This little Christmas tree in Little Canada caught my eye last weekend as I was leaving a relatives house for a family gathering. It made for a great shot to try out my new Joby Gorilla Tripod. Thanks Dad!
