The Shadow Knows
Taken as the sun was setting, the trees shadows caught my eye that were framed between the downspouts.

A very surreal photo. Once I read your explanation I understood what I was seeing. But before that I imagined all sorts of things.
The colors really make the picture. I kept looking at it, trying to make sure it was not the actually sunset.
