It's A Bird, It's A Plane....

I bet you're curious how I got this grasshopper photo? There was a bit of luck involved to the grasshopper like this. I was leaving for work on a very hot a steamy afternoon. I opened the car door and was hit in the face by a wall of sweltering heat from the car sitting in the sun all afternoon. It was very hot outside and even hotter inside my vehicle. I must get inside the car so I can leave, I turn on the engine and fire up the air conditioner. I'm sitting there for a few minutes in the drivers seat, when this grasshopper jumps onto the front window of my car. What luck eh?

Have you ever had strange luck like this for a photo?

Say Hello To Mr. Creepy

These insects look rather nasty to me. They are called an earwig and looks like something out of a Hollywood creep show movie. Earwigs are generally nocturnal while hiding in dark moist areas in the day. These insects look rather nasty to me. Caught In A Web

We've had quite a bit of rain lately in the Twin Cities. I captured today's macro shot shortly after a more rain passed through my area. These are water droplets caught in a spider web.

Don't Tread On Me

I cannot identify this insect, however, he gives off a tone, that this flower is his and he is not to be disturbed.

Census 2010

Macro shot of the US Census 2010 letterhead. Just received my official United States Census 2010 form at the end of last week. Thankfully, I recieved a letter the previous week from the Census Bureau. When I opened the letter, it read that I was going to receive a letter from the Census Bureau. Interesting....they sent a letter to inform me that I'm going to receive a letter. So then....do I need to send them a letter to inform them that I'm going to mail their form back to them?

Small Things Growing In Nature

A mushroom grows in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and captured using a macro shot. This is one of my favorite daytime shots I took using the macro setting. How large is this mushroom? About an inch to an inch and a half wide. There were many signs of growing mushrooms in the heavily moisture of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. There has been quite a bit of rain in the midwest as many of you are aware of. I was surprised when I returned from my week in the BWCA to find so much rain and flooding in many of the midwestern states.
