Theme Day: Photo Of The Year

Theme day in the City Daily Photo Community. This months theme day is our second time with this theme and it's only fitting. Our photo of the year from the completed year. This one was originally posted September 10, 2007. It's of the Cottage View Drive In theater that could be in it's final year of operation. Only time will tell. Plus this photo was my first night time shot with a real tripod involved, it was planned out, the setting sun was wanted, the lights of the neon sign. It was the start of a new type of photography for me.

Visit the other participating photo blogs and see their selections for photo of the year. Their links are below and allow for the time changes, new year celebrations, and enjoy the new year!

I love this photograph. You could almost write a novel around it. Fabulous colours, atmosphere, clarity. And the composition is superb.

Happy New Year to you and yours, Slinger.

I love everything about this photo. There are so many places in my city that are now gone, and I wish I had taken photos of them. You'll be so glad that you did!

Happy New Year,

I like your photo! I missed it when you first posted it as I was out of the country, so I'm glad you chose it.

I have wanted to mention to you that, given our football discussion in early Sept., who would have thought the Titans would make it to the playoffs this year?

Happy New Year!

I've rather been enjoying everyone's reasons for selecting their respective "photos of the year."

Some simply chose their favorite; some chose the technically best; some polled their readers and selected by "readers' choice"; some chose their photos for sentimental reasons; some totally forgot that today was the theme day. ;)

I like your reason. I mean, I think your 12/31 photo is a more successful night shot, but then, you've had lots of practice since this 1/1 photo was taken, haven't you? :)

Great photo. Reminds me of those 50's or 60's movies.

I look forward to visiting your blog more often this 2008. And you're welcome to mine, too! For some reason, my link was not included in the participating blogs for the 1st of January 2008 theme day. Sorry I wasn't able to visit your blog sooner. I was in transit the whole of yesterday. I am now back in Norwich after the most fantabulous time at home in Manila.

Happy New Year to you and everyone you hold dear!
