The Busted Nut

Although it’s a bit on the smaller side, The Busted Nut Bar & Grill is incredibly popular and offers a fantastic menu. If you're looking for a new spot to dine, I highly recommend paying them a visit. The prices are very reasonable, with great value on both the food and drinks. The atmosphere has a historic charm, retaining its original character and feel.

Spiral Brewery On Tap

We love hanging out at Spiral Brewery in Hastings. Cozy atmosphere, local feel, great brews and they have a board where you can buy a beer for a friend. Their Townie is amazing and a local favorite. My personal favorite is LeDuc Red, which they have been out of for a while. Their seltzer's according to my wife are outstanding!

Hasting Bridge At Sunset

The Hastings Bridge does have a lot of great locations to capture it well. Throwing in a blooming sunset just adds to it.

Round House Revisited

This is my second time photographing the round house in Hastings. The first time I posted a photo of this house, it was my fifth post ever on my photoblog. Way back on April 30, 2006. That really goes way back. The house looked a little plain back then, but maybe that was because it was a springtime photo.

Here is a link to my 5th Post: https://www.twincitiesdailyphoto.com/2006/04/round-house-in-hastings.html

Street Side Patios

One of the best things that has come out of the COVID-19 pandemic was the extra outdoor seating from places that never intended to have outdoor seating. In this downtown block in Hastings, there are four business that have constructed patios out in the street. Genius!

Hubcap Artwork

I've always found this hubcap tree a bit odd looking.

Vermillion Falls

The Vermillion Falls are a full on go right now with all of our rain! A much needed sight from 2021's drought in Minnesota.

Reflections On The Water

It was just dark enough outside for me to see the Hastings Bridge reflection in the water. Thankfully the river wasn't as iced up as it had been this past winter.

Orange Triangle Delight

The last time I was under the Hastings Bridge, the orange triangles were not installed. I like that there are so many of them.

Downtown In Hastings

Downtown Hastings has this row of buildings with a lot of character. I believe I photograph it every time I am here.

Flour Mill Decay

One from the Hastings Flour Mill. You may have to make the photo bigger to see it, but there are three metal stars in the photo. One on the right and two near the roof line. What is the purpose of these stars?

Spiral Bridge Mural

A great mural of the old Spiral Bridge in Hastings. I'm not sure of the purpose of the two trolls, or the feathers that appear to come from their backside, but bridge is quite the sight.

Hot Dog Pig Races

Some things are better left as a mystery....

Hastings Bridge Circa 2006

One of my old captures, that I believe, never made it to my blog of the Hasting bridge, that crosses the Mississippi River. Today, there is a new bridge being built along side the one in the photo that is nearly completed. Once the new bridge is complete, they will tear down the old bridge, then build a second bridge to expand the lanes of traffic.

Just Ducky

Captured these ducks this summer on the hottest and most humid day of the summer. In fact, it was the most humid day that I can ever recall from these parts. I'm unsure if these ducks were enjoying the heat, but this swampy looking land was a flooded out area near the Mississippi River. We had received quite a bit of rain a few day prior to this photo.
