Here Is The Church, Here Is The Steeple

Well, it's a bit more than a church. All of this beautiful architect belongs to St Paul's Cathedral. The Cathedral has had millions of people worship here since the first service back in 1697 took place. That's over three hundred years ago. Recently restored in 1997, the cathedral lost it's greenish tint to a newer brown colored top. The old roof I believe was made of copper, thus the greenish tint as the weather took it's tool. I'm not sure if the new dome is made of copper or some other type of metal. It looks very nice, but I do miss the greenish color it once had.

I drove past this cathedral today and wondered when I would get around to posting a photo of it on my blog. You and I shared inspiration today. :-) By the way, you will get your green after a while. They did use copper in the renovation.

Wouldn't it be fun to prowl through this church, investigate all the spaces here and there. I can make up a mystery that would fit those interior rooms and, were I to learn the 300+ year history of the place, I might even make it historically accurate. What a great place to let imagination soar.

Hummm, somethings not right. Minnesota became a state in 1857 [or somewhere around there], the Delecration of Independance was signed 1776....thus the numbers just are not coresponding.

I shall investigate my error....
